No one actually sees the faces. The deck is shuffled and the bottom
card is peeked by one person. It is shuffled again and the second
card is peeked by another. The deck is cut and run through, face
up. The two cards that were peeked are gone. The spectators find
the missing peeked cards under their hands. CARD BOXES: Bike, Tally-Ho,

in an all backs-up deck, is the selected card. NO sleights.

DANISH CARD
TRICK: (N. Lester) - A SINGLE, King or a Jack is shown and
tossed face down on the table. A knife blade is passed under the
card. When the card is turned face up, it's a, full face Queen
! Isn't that the way they do it in Denmark? (It can even change while FACE UP !) DAZZLE BAC-FLIPS (N. Schultz/N.
Lester) - Four face-up cards are shown as a `test of observation'.
They are counted and one card turns face down. Counted again,
it is now face up, but a different card is face down. This happens
four times. The last face down card is physically turned over.
They are then counted showing 4 faces and Bicycle backs. The spectator
is asked, "What color are the backs of the cards?" When
the cards are turned face down, all the cards are inlayed with
assorted Colors of eye-dazzling refractive mylar. e.g., red orange,

Marks) - A delightful mental routine to illustrate the empathy
between a couple. You shuffle and split the deck in half. Each
half is then shuffled. The guy and the girl each get one half.
They each count off 3 to 10 cards. Both select and remember one
card from their packet. Their card is returned and each packet
is shuffled and traded . They each select a card from the other's
packet. They then discover - they have each picked the other person's
card. This is 90% presentation. Little skill needed. This is a
excellent mental-effect. It has several other uses.

The spectator is asked to think of one of the cards that they

card. But, when the deck is turned face up, they see that the

they DO match, . BUT ... they are totally different from the card
the audience saw selected originally. The audiance is fooled,

They find a card by looking ONLY at the BACKS. You spread the
deck face down, to show 52 backs, then face up, to show it is
mixed. It is turned face down. After having a helper cut the deck
a few times, you spread it again. THEY slide out one card from
the face-down, spread deck and look only at the back. They slide
it to a second person. The second person looks at the face and
returns it to the deck and you square it. THEY then cut the deck
several times and you re-spread the deck. The first person selects
one of the cards, face down, after looking ONLY at the backs,
The second person names the card they looked at and when the card
is turned face up - it IS the one they originally picked. (I came
up with this, and showed 5 people at the Castle, 4 bought it on

Ken Brooks: An envelope containing four cards is shown. You state that one
card is reversed, a King. A suit is named. The cards are removed and fanned.
The named card is the only one reversed. Then it is shown that
it has a different color back from the other three. Hand made.
PALEFACE CARDS: (A. Alan / H.
Bennett) - A "gambling type routine" with a surprise
ending. After shuffling the cards face and back up, you explain
(?) how marked cards are used. To illustrate one way they are
used - one card is selected and half of the deck is spread on
the table. To illustrate, you then remove a card from your face up half of the
deck and put it into the tabled spread. You turn your back while
the person returns his card to the spread and the deck is reassembled.
After some by-play the whole deck is ribbon spread face up on
the table and IT IS ALL BLANK, except for the selected card. All
can be examined. This is an excellent routine. I closed my Castle,
close-up act with this funny bit. "THE PERFECT WAVE":
(N. Lester) A person shuffles the deck. They cut it
into 4 piles. You hand them a wallet and tell them it has a Jack in it
that is reversed to the other 3 cards. They are to tap the piles
with it and decide which pile has the matching Jack in it. They
deal out the cards face up, until they come to a Jack. You open
the wallet and spread the cards. The matching Jack is the only
reversed card. The other 3 cards are BLANK. You never

PRINCESS CARD TRICK: (N.
Leipzig) - 5 Cards are shown. One is thought of. You Shuffle and
look at the cards. You remove one and put it under your arm or
lapel. The 4 remaining cards are shown and their card is missing.
PREDICTABLE PREDICTION:
(Bob Jardine) - A deck is fanned. One card is removed and tabled,
face down. The deck is ribbon spread face up. A spectator is asked
to quickly name the "One missing card." They name one. After
a bit of by-play, the tabled card is flipped face-up and it IS
the named card. Complete. Comes in R or B, Bike cards. This is
a funny effect. Add it to your deck.
PSYCO-MATIC: This effect
is the same as "Tel-o-matic", except cards are peeked
from only ONE end. Complete: PUZZLED: (Bro. Hamman's
Hal-deucenation) You tell the people, "This is the best Puzzle
in the world. NO ONE has ever figured it out." You show 2,
face to face BLACK Kings. They are passed through the hand and
they turn into two RED kings. You can repeat t a couple times. Then you ask them how they think
it was done - they accuse you of having 4 cards. You admit you
do. "I have, what, 2 red Kings and 2 black Kings,
Correct?" They say, "Yes." You say, "That is why NO ONE has ever solved this Puzzle (spreading the

An unknown red backed card is placed in a blue deck and the deck
is cut, or overhand shuffled. The deck is turned face up. A spectator
THINKS of one of the cards, as you run through the deck. They
are then asked which card THEY thought of. That card is then located
and removed from the deck. The deck is then shown to have all
blue backs. The card they mentally selected is turned face up
and it IS the red card. Bicycle. or Tally-Ho backs. Instructions

: - The deck is cut shorter OR narrower than a regular deck.
It makes any regular sized card that you put in the deck VERY

that the pips have slid to the edge of the card. He then bangs
the narrow end of the card on the table and it is seen that all
of the pips have slid down and are all scrunched up in the corner.
